We are an enthusiastic team that loves to sing. Our passion for music is why we get together. The fun we have being a part of this choir is what keeps us coming back. We are glad you have decided to visit our site and encourage you to learn more about us and discover how you can become involved.

A warm welcome to our new choir director Alan C. Whitmore.

Alan is returning to Victoria after 24 years away. Before his departure he was Director of Music at Metropolitan United Church and the founding artistic director of the Wedgewood Singers. He was also know as a voice teacher and coach.

During the past 24 years, Alan has been involved in Music Ministry with churches in British Columbia, Ontario, North Carolina, and Florida. He has also conducted community choirs of all sizes in Kitchener-Waterloo, ON; New Bern, NC; Jacksonville, FL; and Parksville, BC. Alan is well known as a workshop facilitator in church music and teach/coach of voice, piano and organ. He has been associated with Wood Lake Publishing for 24 years, first as Music and Liturgy Editor and then as a consultant for music resources, church school curricula, and copyright issues.

Alan is very happy to be back in Victoria with his spouse, Denise and is looking forward to many years with the Victoria Male Voice Choir.

This season, in October, we welcomed our new accompanist Erin Zipper, who replaced the beloved Pat Shumka. Pat retired from the choir’s pianist position after many wonderful years with us. The choir would like to say “Thank you Pat!” and wishes her health and joy.

Erin Zipper comes to us from Madison, Wisconsin.  A professional collaborative pianist, Erin has immense experience in musical theatre as conductor, piano and rehearsal pianist, including experience in composition and arranging and teaching piano and vocal coaching.  The Victoria Male Voice Choir is delighted to welcome Erin to the fold and we look forward to working with her as we grow into the future.
